Breezair SA Scorpions

The Breezair SA Scorpions compete in the Womens National Cricket League, in both the 50 over and T20 formats. For more details on the squad and latest news, click here.

Two major signings were completed over the winter with England International Sarah Taylor and New Zealand dual-international Sophie Devine joining the squad for the 2014/15 season.

A world-class wicket-keeper batsman, Taylor currently ranks inside the top three batsman for both Twenty20 and 50-over formats, according to the ICC Player Rankings. Taylor, 25, has played six Test matches, 88 One Day Internationals and 64 Twenty20 matches and already has five centuries and 14 half-centuries next to her name.

New Zealand dual-international Sophie Devine will add further batting depth whilst providing another bowling option in an already-exciting Scorpions line-up.

Kensington’s Katelyn Pope also has been awarded her first Scorpions contract, the young left-arm medium pace bowler claiming match-winning figures of 4/30 in her side’s Women’s A Grade triumph last season.

Lauren Ebsary will again lead the Scorpions in both the Women’s National Cricket League and Twenty20 competitions, and will be looking to Australian squad members Megan Schutt and Bridget Patterson to lead from the front.
