The South Australian Cricket Association confirmed its commitment to the ‘MyCricket’ National Cricket Management System during the 2008/09 season. A number of Associations and Clubs across Australia embraced the online system in its inaugural year, and the SACA will continue to encourage South Australian cricket stakeholders to utilise the system during the upcoming season.
The nationwide system encompasses interactive fixtures, scorecards and detailed player statistics, which are all available from the public website. Ultimately, players can compare their weekly performances against team mates and players from across the country.
From an administration point of view, the system provides a variety of benefits to assist with the day to day running of a cricket club, including:
An opportunity for the division of jobs currently undertaken by cricket clubs, including the ability to establish a variety of user roles such as specific users to enter scorecards or to manage people/player contact details
A free, easy to use, fully customisable Association or Club website that links directly into live scores from the system
A straightforward step by step process to create cricket draws
The ability to manage and update people/player contact details
Various methods to communicate with members, including email and SMS
Ability to complete online fully configurable captain and umpire reports
This season JLT Sport is again incorporating MyCricket into the insurance registration process, with Clubs requiring to nominate club contacts and declare their number of teams in order to obtain a copy of the Certificate of Currency.
