It's been a big week for left-hand batsman, Alex Carey, who made his debut in both the Ryobi One Day Cup and Bupa Sheffield Shield.
It has also been a big six months since Carey returned to South Australia last year after spending two years with the Greater Western Sydney Giants.
A talented junior cricketer, Carey had a rookie contract with the Redbacks in 2009/10 before pursuing football.
He won their Best and Fairest in 2010 when the Giants were competing in the TAC Cup U18 competition in Victoria.
Carey made a composed 38 in the Ryobi match on Sunday and put on a 35-run partnership with Sam Raphael chasing the 91-run target in the Shield win.
